About Aptum AI
Operational systems built by someone who's actually run operations.
Why Aptum AI Exists
Aptum AI was born from a simple observation: the teams that do the hardest, most complex work — cybersecurity, PE portfolio ops, high-growth service businesses — are often stuck with the worst operational infrastructure.
They're running critical workflows on spreadsheets. Tracking cases in email threads. Making staffing decisions based on gut feel. Not because they're unsophisticated, but because nobody builds operational systems for their specific world.
We do. Aptum AI builds custom operating platforms that integrate workflows, data, automation, and AI into one unified system — designed around how your team actually works.
Nick Graham
Founder & Principal Data Scientist
I'm an Army Special Forces veteran turned tech operator. After the military, I spent six years as VP of Operations at two venture-backed cybersecurity startups, where I learned a core truth: to compete with bigger players, you have to be ruthlessly efficient with your systems.
I started by automating my own workload: Python scripts for analytics, Zapier to bridge disconnected tools, Airtable dashboards for real-time KPIs. Over time, those became cross-functional systems that transformed how entire teams operated. The gains weren't just in time and accuracy. People felt energized when the manual busywork disappeared.
Most recently, I served as a Senior Data Scientist on the Enterprise AI team at a publicly traded SaaS company, where I helped design and deploy AI/ML solutions that created the equivalent of 1,300 full-time employees and saving $300M+ annually.
Today, at Aptum AI, I bring that same combination of operational leadership and deep technical execution to every engagement. I work fluently across both code (Python, SQL, ML) and no-code (Airtable, n8n, Make) platforms, and bring a systems-level view to every project.
Mission: To help high-performing teams scale smarter — using automation, AI, and connected systems to free them up to do what they do best.
How We Think About the Work
Understand the workflow first.
Not just what happens — but why, where, and how often.
Design for operational reality.
Tools should reflect how people actually work, not how software wishes they worked.
Automate the right things.
Remove repetition, accelerate throughput, standardize quality.
Layer in AI where it creates leverage.
Summaries, classification, insights, reporting — in controlled, auditable workflows.
Measure value.
Quantify capacity, time savings, and performance improvements.
